LOBBYIST AND PRINCIPAL REPORT DEADLINES

Nebraska legislative sessions are held annually. Ninety-day sessions are held in odd-numbered years and sixty day sessions are held in even-numbered years. In 2013 the legislative session will begin January 9, 2013.  Lobbyist registrations for 2012 will terminate December 31, 2012. If a lobbyist is renewing their registration via the new electronic online reporting system, they will need to use FORM A for all renewal of registrations in order to be entered into and use the electronic online reporting system found at www.nebraskalegislature.gov.

Featured below are the deadlines for reports required to be submitted by all lobbyists and principals. Quarterly reports (Form B and Form C) are due 30 days after the end of each quarter. Form D is due 45 days after adjournment sine die.  See Nebraska Revised Statutes sec. 49-1480 through 49-1492.01.

If using the electronic online reporting system for 2013, use Form A only for all registration and renewals.  Go to www.nebraskalegislature.gov and click on the lobbyist link on the left.  If using paper reporting for the year 2013, you can use Renewal Form A-R – must be received by December 31, 2012

SPECIAL REPORTS (Sec. 49-1483.03) Any lobbyist (FORM B-B) or principal (FORM C-C) who receives or expends more than $5,000.00 (compensation disclosed on Forms A or A-R excepted) for lobbying purposes during any calendar month in which the Legislature is in session, is required to file a Special Report within 15 days after the end of that month.
